Browne Jacobson is gearing up for future growth with a move to flagship new offices in Nottingham.

The law firm can confirm it has agreed terms on a 10 year lease at a headline rent of £12.50 per sq ft to move to Mowbray House, part of the award winning HM Revenue and Customs headquarters complex designed by the distinguished architect Sir Michael Hopkins.

Roger Davis of Geo Hallam & Sons has advised Browne Jacobson throughout the negotiations with Jones Lang LaSalle who acted on behalf of the landlord, Mapeley .

More than 380 employees will relocate to the Castle Meadow Road site, including more than 150 lawyers and over 45 partners.

The firm will occupy all 4 floors of the 59,000 sq ft office space, which will be refurbished to Grade A standard.

The finished office will also feature a dedicated client suite on the ground floor, along with 50 on-site car parking spaces and secure bike shelters, supporting the firm’s well-being and cycle-to-work schemes.

The building also has impressive environmental credentials including eco-friendly lighting, an excellent BREEAM rating and a unique ventilation system.

Iain Blatherwick, Managing Partner, commented:

“We are excited to have secured this building which marks a major investment for the firm and is a cornerstone to our plans to continue growing as a business.

“We had outgrown our existing premises at Castle Gate and Hounds Gate, so when the opportunity of moving into Mowbray House was presented to the partnership it made perfect business sense.

“The building ticks all the important boxes with its key strategic location in the city, high quality flexible accommodation and eco-friendly design.

“To reflect our brand personality we will be making maximum use of the open plan working environment to create a vibrant and innovative workspace for our colleagues and an impressive and well-equipped meeting place for clients and visitors. We will also be taking advantage of the outdoor space and excellent views which will give us a unique working environment”

Roger Davis of Geo Hallam & Sons commented:

“I relocated Browne Jacobson from Friar Lane to their existing offices at Castle Gate in 1988 and have since advised the practice on all of their Nottingham property issues. I was delighted to accept the brief of moving them again.  Over a period of three years a number of options were considered but Mowbray House without doubt offers the best opportunity for readymade offices in Nottingham”
