Law firm Gateley has committed to remaining within the heart of Nottingham's business community by moving on a long-term lease to Park View House.

The firm's move from the City Gate office complex in Tollhouse Hill, in the city centre, to its new offices at Park View House, 58 The Ropewalk, is designed to allow the operation to continue its growth plans within Nottingham's professional quarter.

Gateley's 40 staff in Nottingham will relocate to their new base in early December.

Led by real-estate partner and head of office Andy Matthews, the firm operates across banking and finance, commerce, technology and media, property litigation, contentious construction, corporate, corporate recovery, employment and real estate.

58 The Ropewalk, constructed in the late 1990s, was completely refurbished by landlord F&C REIT in late 2013 to provide much-needed Grade A space in the city centre.

James Hall of Geo Hallam and Sons and James Keeton of JLL acted for F&C Reit the landlord whilst John Proctor of FHP, acted for Gateley.

Mr Matthews said: "The Park View House move will provide modern, professional office space in an easy-to-find location. We made a number of key hires and promotions during 2014 across our service offerings. The move reflects our investment in developing the team further."

Simon McIntosh, of F&C Reit, who represented the landlord, said: "Following the speculative refurbishment, F&C REIT are delighted to have secured Gateley, another blue-chip tenant.

"This letting reinforces the demand and flight by tenants to modern, Grade A refurbished office buildings in Nottingham."

The news is a welcome boost for Nottingham's professional services sector and follows the earlier letting this year of the upper floor offices at Park View House to Mazars who are relocating into the city centre.
